from infoniac.com: MS Beluga SkySails - World's Largest Cargo Vessel Equipped Pulled by a Kite
Posted by: ♫renzO♫ -
For over 10 years SkySails, a company based in Hamburg, has been making giant kites that are attached to ships in order to cut the level of fuel they use. The kites catch the wind and pull ships across the ocean.
The invention was put into regular use only in 2008, when the company attached one of its kites to 132-meter long multi-purpose heavy lift shipcalled MS Beluga SkySails.
Recently the company announced that it looks forward to use its new technology on a vessel that weights between 25,000 and 30,000 tons(27,558 to 33,069 US tons). This will be the world's largest ship pulled by a kite. It would be interesting to note that the kite measures 320 square meters (382.7 sq. yards). It will fly ahead on the ship at an altitude of 100 to 420 meters (328 to 1,378 feet).
An automated system will be used to control the kite's path. The kite will be launched and retrieved using a telescoping tower located on the bow and equipped with a winch.
Data on the system's operation will be shown on a display on the ship's bridge. It was reported that the SkySails system will cut the ship's fuel consumption by 10 to 35 percent each year and by up to 50 percent temporarily.
According to a research carried out by the United Nations' International Maritime Organization, in case the system is applied around the world up to 100 million tons of CO2 could be saved each year.

According to the wikipedia,"The Great Jamahiriya officially, the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (Arabic: الجماهيرية العربية الليبية الشعبية الاشتراكية العظمى {{transl|ar|DIN|al-Ǧamāhīriyyah al-ʿArabiyyah al-Lībiyyah aš-Šaʿbiyyah al-Ištirākiyyah al-ʿUẓmā, is an country located in the Maghreb region of northern Africa. Bordering the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Libya lies between Egypt to the east, Sudan to the south east, Chad and Niger to the south, and Algeria and Tunisia to the west.
With an area of almost 1,800,000 square kilometres (700,000 sq mi), Libya is the fourth largest country in Africa by area, and the 17th largest in the world. The capital, Tripoli, is home to 1.7 million of Libya's 6.4 million people. The three traditional parts of the country are Tripolitania, Fezzan, and Cyrenaica. Libya has the highest HDI in Africa and the fourth highest GDP (PPP) per capita in Africa as of 2009, behind Seychelles, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. These are largely due to its largepetroleum reserves and low population. Libya is one of the 10 richest oil producing countries.
Libya gained independence as the Kingdom of Libya in 1951. Libya has been ruled from 1969 to the present by Muammar al-Gaddafi, who rose to power in a military coup. In February 2011 mass protests and demonstrations broke out across Libya against Gaddafi's government. By 23 February 2011, the Libyan opposition was reported to be in control of several coastal towns and cities in eastern and central Libya, with other sources stating that the Gaddafi government only retained control of a few parts of Tripoli and the southern desert town of Sabha."
it's nice to know how nice libya is...but today libya is in a critical congestion were people fight for the rights for their own good.
blood spoils everywhere, bullets, and traumatized people spreads everywhere in libya.
innocent nor non-innocent , man nor woman, child nor adult, all of them suffer from this congestion.
as of now the government is still working with the officials of libya but unfortunately there is still no good response at all from the officials of libya.
so all we need to do for now, as a help to the libya, is pray.
putting all of this burden in God's will, for i know he has a reason why it happens and for every reasons there is an answer.
hoping for the peace and wonderful life back to the libya.
Thanks Mom!: advance gift for my special lovedone's, my mom.

For the abc’s you dare
For the wonderful stories you share
And so I came so smart.
For the silly jokes you shared
For the foolish things you paired
And so I laugh so loud.
For the problems you solved
For the fight you stopped
And so I live so peaceful.
For the household chores you thought
For the cleaning aids you brought
And so I came so skillful.
For the sweat you did on working
For the footmarks you did on walking
And so I came to be responsible.
For the advices you gave
For the cheers you craved
And so I came so confident.
For the love you cared
For the patience you shared
And so this poem devoted to you.
I love you Mom!
I love you Mom!

"Advance Merry Christmas to all of us! may we experience a peaceful and joyous Christmas celebration for this year...an update from mine."
jingle bells2x jingle all the way... a group of children caroling from a distance away from our house, without analyzing the situation nothing comes out from my mind when i think of whats really the essence of this Christmas without those carolers?but after a several minutes i say: yes, we might think it is to boring at all without those cute little children singing their favorite song "we wish you a Merry Christmas" and "jingle bells" even if their lyrics are not really the right one.
Those children were not just actually singing just to earn money they also sings because they knew it is fun and for them fun is simply enough to make their Christmas childhood memorable.
Who knows after 10 years those little Children carolers would turn into an amazing singers, we just don't know what will happen in the future.
Christmas celebrates once a year, without it life is so mean less. so spend your Christmas happily and joyous.
an update from me.
